    Enjoy delicious breakfast and get ready for a city tour of the island of the rising sun, Tokyo, Japan. We will first visit Asakusa Kannon Temple, an ancient and most significant Buddhist temple in Tokyo, built in 628 A.D. The temple is devoted to the bodhisattva Kannon. According to legend, a statue of the Kannon was found in the Sumida Rover in 628 by two fisherman, the brothers Hinokuma Kamanari and Kinokuma Takenari. The chief of their village, Hajino Nakamoto, recognized the holiness of the status and treasured it by remodeling his own house into a small temple so the villagers could worship the Kannon. Next visit Nakamise Shopping Arcade, one of the oldest shopping centers in Japan. The street is coated with colorful, lively stalls selling traditional knick-knacks, festival foods and rice crackers. Last but not least, we will go to Nijubashi, a bridge where you can look across the river to the Imperial Palace, the current Imperial Palace residence of the Emperor of Japan located on the former site of the Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls. Afterwards, we will be transferred to the port and board Azamara Quest. Enjoy outstanding cuisine, fun entertainment, and much more.

    Today our cruise ships arrives in Hakadate, Hokkaido, Japan. First we will visit the Hakadate Morning Market and see the variety of fresh seafood and fisheries. Next see Goryokaku, the first western-style castle in Japan. It has a unique bastional structure with five prominent corners and a star-shaped pentagon. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse has been converted from a warehouse to a 5 restaurant building with a shopping street and small music hall. Last but not least, take the Mount Hakodate Ropeway to the 334 meter high observation deck overlooking the mountains and seas of Hakodate and the surrounding areas.

    9/7 AKITA - JAPAN
    Our cruise ship arrives in Akita, Honshu, Japan. We will head over to Oga Peninsula, where we can see the best view of Akita, and see the peninsula stretch out into the Sea of Japan like an axe.
    Along the way you can see the stretch of coastline and strange rocks such as Godzilla Rock, which looks similar to a dinosaur. Visit the Namahage Museum, a museum that introduces the customs and history of the male demons with the theme of mountain gods. Here you will also learn about their activities, the rules and practices, and the spirit of inheritance.

    Today our cruise ship stops at Kanazawa, Honshu, Japan. We will first visit the Kenrokuen Garden, the first of the three famous gardens in Japan. The architecture of the garden is that from the Edo period and is famous for 6 major points: grand, quiet, manpower, ancient, water and hope. Explore Omicho Market, which has a history of more than 300 years and plays an important role in the Kanazawa food culture. After enjoying a seafood lunch, we will head over to Higashi Chaya District, which is a famous flower street during the Edo period. The two-story wooden building and the rows of fine lattice doors and windows make the whole street have an antique look, it will remind you of the old Japanese style of entertainment of song and dance.

    Today our cruise ship arrives in Sakaiminato, Japan. We will first visit the Matsue Castle, built in 1611, which is listed as one of Japan’s top 100 famous castles. It is one of the few remaining medieval castles left in Japan, at least of the few remaining in their original wooden form. Next enjoy Yuushien Garden, a Japanese - style garden famous for beautiful peony flowers. It is one of the most magnificent Japanese gardens with seasonal flowers, trees, ponds, waterfalls, and paving stones creatively organized over 40,000 square meters. Stroll through Sakaiminato Sakana Centre, and see the marketplace where local fish and seafood brokers come together to buy and sell all sorts of fish and seafood at very low prices. This hometown is where Japanese manga “Kitaro” all started. The local street is renamed “Mizuki Shigeru Road”, where the street lamps, statues and shops are all designed and built according to the characters of “Monster Town.

    Our cruise ship arrives in Busan, South Korea’s second largest city. We will first visit the
    Busan Aquarium, Korea’s largest underwater theme aquarium. It’s most popular exhibit is the 80-meter long under tunnel for sharks. Nearby is Haeundae, a famous simple beach that stretches 1.5 kilometer. Next, see the venue for the 2005 APEC Summit, Nurimaru APEC House, which was designed to decorate the traditional Korean pavilion in a modern way. The shape of the roof depicts the ridgeline of Dongbai Island. Afterwards, explore Shinsegae Centum City Department Stores, also registered in the Guinness World Records as the World’s Largest Department Store. Last but not least, stroll along Jeonpo Cafe Street, which is the filming location for the Korean variety show “Superman is Back.”

    9/11 SASEBO - JAPAN
    Today our cruise ship arrives in Sasebo, Kyushu, Japan. We will head over to Asia’s largest leisure theme park, Huis Ten Bosch, which means “forest home” in Dutch. It covers an area of 152 hectares and is twice the size of Tokyo Disneyland. The park is modeled after the Netherlands. The style, the gardens and the European-style canal, recreates the European streetscape from the Middle Ages.

    Our cruise ship arrives in Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan. We will first visit the Kirishima Shrine, the largest shrine in South Kyushu. It is known as the land where the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu descended upon. Next, enjoy Kirishima Onsen, which is located at the foot of the Kirishima Lianfeng Mountain. It is the hot spring where Japan’s favorite historical figures Sakamoto Ryoma visited with his wife. This couples trip was named Japan’s first honeymoon trip. Last but not least, we will visit Takachiho Farm, located in Kirishima National Park, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery on the plateau. It is the largest livestock farm in Kyushu. Here you can also learn about the milk production process in their dairy factory.

    9/13 KOCHI - JAPAN
    Today our cruise ship arrives in Kochi, Japan. We will first visit Kochi Castle, one of the top 100 famous castles in Japan. It is also one of the twelve Japanese castles to have survived the fires, wars and other damages of the post feudal age.Next, stroll through Obiyamachi Shopping Arcade, the busiest shopping street in the city of Kochi. Visit the Katsurahama Beach, one of the most picturesque spots in Kochi Prefecture. A famous statue of Kochi’s favorite son, Sakamoto Ryoma stands near the beach. He was one of the architects of modern Japan. Last but not least, enjoy some local Japanese sake tasting. The sake brewed here is light and dry and is known for its smoothness in the throat.

    9/14-9/15 KOBE - JAPAN
    Day 1 - Our cruise ship arrives in Kobe, Japan. We will head over to Kyoto, Japan, where many traditional Japanese cultures are preserved. Visit Kiyomizu Temple, an independent Buddhist temple which is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage site. It was founded in 780 on the site of the Otowa Waterfall and the name comes from the fall’s pure waters. In the evening, we will have special arrangements to eat Kaiseki-Ryori, a traditional Japanese multi course cuisine, while also enjoying the Geisha Show, a professional Japanese dance performance, showing Japan’s long history of culture and entertainment.

    Day 2 - On our second day, we will have a city tour in Kobe. We will visit Ikuta Shrine, which is a well known sacred shrine, possibly one of the oldest shrines in the country with over 1800 years in history. This shrine is worshipped as a guardian of health. For the locals here, it is also a symbol of resurrection, as it survived quite some challenges in the past. During the Meiji era, the port of Kobe was opened for foreign trade. Here you can visit Kitano-Ku, a small historic city district that foreign merchants and diplomats once called home. Last but not least, enjoy the Kobe City Hall Observation Deck, where you can see the beautiful sea and city view of Kobe.

    Today our cruise ship arrives in Shimizu, Japan. First we will take the Lake Ashi Cruise. The beautiful scenery of Lake Ashi is a volcanic lake formed by volcanic eruptions that is 725 meters above sea level. From the south of Lake Ashi, while overlooking Mount Fuji, you can see the beautiful reflection of the lake. Next take the Hakone Ropeway, which gives you a 360 degree view of the city. The cable car ride is 4,035 meters long, it is Japan’s longest ride, and the world’s second longest ride. Afterwards, see Hakone Shrine, built in 757 AD, which stands at the foot of Mount Hakone along the shores of Lake Ashi. The shrine is a great photo stop and is particularly breathtaking when shrouded in mist.

    9/17-9/18 TOKYO - JAPAN
    Our cruise ship returns to Tokyo, Japan. We will visit the Meiji Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deified spirits Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. Located next to this shrine is Harajuku, the original birthplace of Japanese pop culture. Stroll through Shibuya, the birthplace of Japan trends, which is a very popular shopping destination for young people. Last but not least, visit the Tokyo SkyTree Tower, the second tallest building in the world standing at 634 meters. We will be on the 350 meter observatory to enjoy the panoramic view of Tokyo.
